Preparing life-long learners

Tulsa Educare exemplifies GKFF’s vision of creating a city where every child receives equal opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

A proven model for development and success

Educare envisions a world in which a young child’s family income, race and any adverse experiences do not predict their life success.

Tulsa Educare is a member of the Educare Learning Network, a group of 25 nationally recognized schools backed by years of data and expertise in early childhood development.

Measurable impact on children and families

With four early childhood schools across the city and a dedicated team of nearly 300 people who provide services to more than 700 children and families, Tulsa Educare offers high-quality early education, supports parenting and partners closely with local child care providers to broaden the impact of high-quality early learning beyond the school walls.

Educare’s proven model for education delivers high-quality, holistic and year-round early childhood education for children starting at six weeks of age.

In 2022, researchers from the Early Childhood Education Institute at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa published a study showing that children who started Tulsa Educare’s early childhood education program by 18 months of age were doing better academically through the third grade than those who did not.

Tulsa Educare’s impact expands beyond the walls of the schools with Early Learning Works. In partnership with educators, parents and local organizations, this initiative offers support to promote literacy and learning for children and families from birth through age eight. This extension of Tulsa Educare’s impact provides crucial support for low-income families to help them better balance obligations like work, school and caregiving responsibilities.

Growth over time

In 2006, Tulsa Educare opened its first school in the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood, which was, at the time, just the fourth Educare center in the country.

In 2010, Tulsa Educare grew with the opening of a second school next to Hawthorne Elementary.

The third school opened in 2012 near MacArthur Elementary and the fourth opened in 2020 next to Celia Clinton Elementary, becoming the 25th school in the Educare Learning Network.
