North Tulsa was just awarded an historic $17.3 million Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Legacy Grant to address the root causes of chronic illness in the area, one of the largest health investments in Tulsa’s history.

The funding will support the North Tulsa Wellness Initiative, a multi-year effort to improve health outcomes in north Tulsa by expanding access to primary care, strengthen neighborhood health resources and address longstanding health issues among residents. Led by the Office of Health & Well-being, Mayor Monroe Nichols and advisory firm Weaver and supported by Community Care, the Coretz Foundation and GKFF, the initiative will build a coordinated, data-driven approach to healthy outcomes while working directly with the community to collaborate on needs and programs.

The TSET Legacy Grant is a one-time funding opportunity designed to address Oklahoma’s leading causes of death. With the North Tulsa Wellness Initiative, Tulsa is taking a step towards improving health outcomes and building a stronger, healthier future for all.
