Gathering Place Named Top 8 City Parks by Washington Post

In a recent article, The Washington Post named The Gathering Place as one of 8 city parks in the U.S. worthy of a trip for its award-winning playgrounds, impressive horticulture and community events.
Over the last seven years, The Gathering Place has become more than just a park—it’s a space where neighbors come together to experience nature, entertainment and most of all, community.

The Gathering Place began with a dream to transform nearly 100 acres of Tulsa’s iconic waterfront along the scenic Arkansas River into a dynamic, interactive environment where Tulsa’s diverse communities could come together to explore, learn and play. In addition to art, events and festivals, The Gathering Place believes that every child deserves an opportunity to learn and explore the natural world, providing free educational programming such as literacy programs, STEM experiments, field trips and more.
Named USA Today’s Best City Park in 2024 (its second winning title in that category), Time Magazine’s 100 Best Places to Visit in 2019 and TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Award in 20205, it’s no secret that The Gathering Place is truly something special.
