Still She Rises, Tulsa is at the forefront of advocacy for women, the fastest-growing segment of the incarcerated population in the nation. Since launching in partnership with GKFF in 2017, Still She Rises has provided free legal representation to nearly 2000 clients. The initiative is addressing the issues that cause incarceration and its consequences like the separation of mothers and children.
Still She Rises represents clients and their families in spaces where the traditional right to counsel does not exist but can prove effective, including family and housing court. Every Still She Rises client has access to an interdisciplinary team of attorneys, social workers, legal advocates and investigators committed to fighting by her side to keep her family together and rebuild her life.
Legal representation is tailored to the needs, wishes and experience of each client. The Still She Rises, Tulsa team works closely with north Tulsa residents to develop strong and lasting relationships and take action to respond to injustices facing the community.
